The Captains Dog

May 23, 1804

Seaman is a very practical dog. He is a black Labrador with green eyes and a large nose. He has common sense and curiosity. Seaman is a caring dog who obeys his owners rules. His nose is top notch and is able to smell his surroundings within 10 seconds. A truly worthy dog for Captain Lewis on his expedition with William Clark to explore the Louisiana purchase. Seaman kept Lewis company when times were rough on the Mississippi.

Good insight, Chris. Just be careful with that last sentence. Keep it in the present as if you are there with Captain Lewis and Seaman. Use little things like verb tense to make things be real.
