Seamans Spirit Guide?

Could White Feather be my spirit guide? Today when we were hiking, a surprising thing happened. White feather was crowing and making all kinds of noise, but the men couldn't hear him? Not to long ago I learned about spirit guides. Could animals have spirit guides to?
