Prairie Dogs

September 6, 1804


Today we have discovered a sort of animal which the humans call a dog, well believe me it sure didn't look like any kind of dog I'd ever seen. These animals were small golden brown, scrawny, and quick little rascals. They live under ground in little holes. The were so quick that my jaw couldn't close before the disappeared.
